Carl's Golfland at St. John's

Enjoy live music at the Majestic Theatre, one of Detroit’s most popular historical landmarks and entertainment venues. This striking Art Deco building has been around since 1915, when it was one of the largest movie theaters in the world. Nowadays, the Majestic is separated into three distinct areas–the Majestic, the Majestic Cafe, and the Magic Stick – all of which host popular musical acts.

Right beneath the Magic Stick, you’ll find the Garden Bowl. The oldest still-operating bowling alley in the country, this historical landmark is a blast to visit. Open until 2AM Monday through Sunday, the Garden Bowl offers an excellent alternative to the traditional bars. Enjoy drinks and the tunes from a jukebox as you show off your bowling skills.

Wine and dine your date at the sumptuous La Dolce Vita. This hidden gem of a restaurant is known as one of the most romantic Italian venues in the city. Guests can choose to sit inside, where the classical, cathedral architecture and candlelight creates the perfect mood, or in the courtyard outside, where you can dine under the stars. No matter where you sit, though, the food is divine!

The Paint Creek Trail in Rochester, a Detroit suburb, offers guests a gorgeous landscape and a wonderfully paved recreation trail. Perfect for walking, running, biking, skating and anything in-between, this former railway bed was the first rail-to-trail project in the state. The 8-foot wide paved trail stretches for nine miles and has plenty of free parking nearby.
