Drive out to Taylor for a fun day at the Heritage Park Petting Farm, where guests young and old alike can have fun meeting the friendly, domesticated animals. Spend an evening at the “world’s oldest jazz club.” Baker’s Keyboard Lounge has acted as a nightlife hotspot ever since 1934. Hear local and major acts present the ever-so-smooth stylings of blues, bebop and, of course, jazz while you dine on the best traditional soul food available.

Visit the only official water park in the city. Chandler Water Park, also known as the Family Aquatic Center, offers Detroit residents and guests the perfect place to enjoy water recreation and cool down when the heat of summer rolls around. Splash around in the wave pool, go down two water slides and let the children have fun in their own special activity pool.

Learn a little about the history of fun at Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum in Farmington. Besides his fondness for alliteration, Marvin also has a strong affection for vintage coin-operated machines. This unusual, unique museum exhibits his vast collection of everything from arcade games to mechanical dummies and many other oddities.
