Although only a small, one-acre park, this little green gem is a great place for those looking to stretch their legs outdoors. Walk along the lovely, wooded trails that pass by some River Rouge tributaries, head to the baseball field and tennis courts or bring your dog out for some fresh air.

Learn a little about the history of fun at Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum in Farmington. Besides his fondness for alliteration, Marvin also has a strong affection for vintage coin-operated machines. This unusual, unique museum exhibits his vast collection of everything from arcade games to mechanical dummies and many other oddities.

Pay a visit to the Belle Isle Conservancy, the program responsible for the impeccable maintenance of the park ground from the closed Belle Isle Aquarium to the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and other attractions. Thanks to BIBS staff and volunteers, the Conservatory, gardens and greenhouses in the sprawling Belle Isle Park are a delightful sight to behold.
