Darien Lakes State Park is known for its challenging, hilly terrain that surrounds the 12-acre Harlow Lake. There are several excellent recreation trails to be found in this naturally alluring part of the area. In addition to the trails, you will also find an impressive 158 campsites, a beach, playgrounds, great fishing spots, and horseback riding trails, too. Additionally, the trails here are open for not only hiking, but for sports like cross-country skiing and snowmobiling as well.

One of the city's most triumphant fixtures on the landscape is the Niagara Mohawk Building. The structure's classic design only makes this 294-foot tall skyscraper even more awe-inspiring. Built in 1912, it is still considered to be one of Buffalo's most beautiful sights. Among the attraction's many notable points, the glazed terracotta tower and regal design makes it even more striking when it is lit up among Buffalo's evening skyline.

While many people see the Erie Canal from a distance, getting a closer look will reveal how this body of water works to further the area's economy. The canal is actually quite interesting, and you can learn more about it when you take the Lockport Locks and Erie Canal Cruise. Your tour guide will be quite informative from start to finish, describing how Lockport is known for the area's water "locks" that run approximately 50 feet. When you cruise through the canal on this tour, you'll actually go through the "locks" and see for yourself how these locks are used to move traffic along the river and its uniquely elevated terrain.
