Nearly everyone is charmed and captivated when they see an old fashioned carousel. Buffalo's Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum offers visitors a chance to dig a little deeper into the history and construction of this time-honored attraction. The venue has the distinction of being the only one of its kind in America, and the whole family will love learning about how carrousels are made from start to finish. Various artifacts include a merry-go-round that dates back to 1916, vintage park rides, organs, and woodcarvings. And, instead of enjoying all of these tremendous works of art from a distance, you're highly encouraged to hop on and take a ride, which will add an even greater level of fun to your visit!
The Buffalo Bisons, the city's Minor League baseball team, makes its home in Coca-Cola Field. The team is a Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Fans line in as the weather gets warmer to see their favorite sports team hit the diamond. The park features several family-oriented promotions as well as various fan giveaways and other special events before, during and after the games.
The Allegany State Park is the largest of New York's state parks as it contains an impressive 65,000 acres of public lands and offers a wide range of recreational activities throughout the year. You can enjoy a guided walk along the Bear Cave Trail, check out the stunning rock formations at the Allegany Plateau, go swimming and sunbathe on either of two beaches, and even go boating or fishing. There's cross-country skiing available, too. So in addition to enjoying some outdoor beauty, you won't be at a loss for any fun activities to enjoy!
Up, up and away on a tour that is truly uplifting! Experience the one-of-a-kind thrill of riding in a hot air balloon when you experience Balloons Over Letchworth. The Letchworth runs 17 miles and features 20 waterfalls as well as 600 feet of awe-inspiring gorges that you will glide over in your hot air balloon ride. This rustic landscape was once home to the Seneca Indians. The ride also includes the Upper Falls, which are 70 feet high and are truly captivating, especially when viewed from a hot air balloon.
