There's nothing quite like watching some supercharged live music. In Providence, one of the best places to check out the electric action on stage is The Strand Ballroom. Whether it's rock, rap, country or alternative, you'll find an impressive selection of acts with equally diverse styles regularly on the bill at this nightlife venue. Showtimes and admission prices vary depending on the specific act, so make sure to check the website before heading out.
Kids love to play on fun playground rides. But in doing that, they can also learn about the importance of being a good neighbor when you take them to the Peace and Plenty Community Park. This long-awaited community playground attraction has been in the making for some time, and now that it has been unveiled, it symbolizes the importance of working together. Neighbors, community families and the City of Providence Parks Department have all collaborated to create this fun place on the site that was once an old apartment building. Since that structure was demolished, this beacon of unity stands in its place for friends and families to enjoy.
Roger Williams Park is often referred to as "the Jewel of Providence" for good reason. This 430-acre park contains a zoo, landscaped grounds, gardens, a carousel and historic buildings. There are also plenty of scenic walking and recreation trails that offer a chance to take in the park's many amenities in a relaxed way.
