Kids love to play on fun playground rides. But in doing that, they can also learn about the importance of being a good neighbor when you take them to the Peace and Plenty Community Park. This long-awaited community playground attraction has been in the making for some time, and now that it has been unveiled, it symbolizes the importance of working together. Neighbors, community families and the City of Providence Parks Department have all collaborated to create this fun place on the site that was once an old apartment building. Since that structure was demolished, this beacon of unity stands in its place for friends and families to enjoy.

Kids are used to being told to keep their hands off of things. Luckily for them, the opposite is the case when the whole family visits the Providence Children's Museum. A hands-on approach is highly encouraged as the kids are able to create their own artwork using the provided paints and other modes of expression. The exhibits and attractions are hands-on and are highly informative and entertaining, presenting such subjects as a time traveling adventure through Rhode Island's multicultural history, and a wet and wild exploration of the ways of water. Those are just a couple of the many great adventures that await you and the kids at the Providence Children's Museum.

At AS220, creative artistic expression is highly encouraged. This popular downtown spot brings together such diverse groups as local artists, families, and tourists to enjoy selections from the city's arts, music and entertainment scene. The venue hosts live performances at least six nights a week that include live bands, poetry readings and performance art, just to name a few. There is also a gallery on site that features a rotating exhibit of the work of local artists.

With the pressures of deadlines and work and bills and everyday life, sometimes you both feel like escaping it all. While you may not be able to escape as far away as you would like, maybe a romantic date on the New England Fast Ferry will create a special memory for the two of you. This ferry covers the area from Providence to Newport and back. Rides are between an hour and an hour and a half, so you can make a little getaway before you both have to come back to reality!
