The Texas State Aquarium is a major tourist attraction on the Gulf Coast that receives more than 500,000 visitors per year and is a leading educational and rehabilitation center that primarily focuses on species from the Gulf of Mexico. Exhibits explore both creatures of the gulf and the natural habitat that supports them. Some sections of the Texas State Aquarium include Amazon, Dolphin Bay, Eagle Pass, and Floating Phantoms. In addition, they have touch tanks, up-close encounters with stingrays, and a super-sized children's play park.
Skydive South Texas offers views and brings the thrill of skydiving, sightseeing, aerial photography, flight instruction, aircraft rental and charter, pilot and aircrew services, and support to Corpus Christi, Padre Island, Mustang Island, and Port Aransas. Take a Discovery Flight with a certified flight instructor in their World War II Stearman Biplane and cruise the beach in vintage style. Bring your camera so you can take selfies with the coast from the beautiful and patriotic airplane. Over 9000 visitors have already tried out the adventures of Skydive South Texas, and zero depart wearing a frown.
The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History invites you to explore the natural history exhibits and a collection of artifacts that tell the history of the New World as it unfolded on the Gulf Coast. Check out the unique life-sized replicas of the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria ships. The vessels were a gift from Spain to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' voyage to the New World. They were constructed from authentic 15th-century materials, including wood from the same forest as Columbus' ships and hand-forged nails. Other exhibits include an interactive shipwreck display, artifacts related to French explorer Robert Cavelier, the Children's Wharf, Native American crafts, and bird and reptile eggs that chronicle the history and culture of South Texas.
