Corpus Christi is located on the Texas gulf coast. The South Texas city is the eighth-largest in the state and home to attractions like the Texas State Aquarium, the USS Lexington and the King Ranch. The city is fondly known as the Sparkling City by the Sea and its beaches attract thousands of visitors annually.

The Port of Corpus Christi is the sixth largest port in the nation and is active in the city economy. The port provides close to 40,000 jobs for the community. Popular beach spots are the Padre Island National Seashore, JP Luby Surf Park and Packery Channel, Bob Hall Pier, McGee Beach, and Corpus Christi Beach, formerly known as North Beach.
