Fossil Rim Wildlife Center aims to protect threatened and endangered wildlife species and the land they inhabit through scientific research, responsible resource management, and public education. With over 1,100 animals from more than 50 different species, the 1,800-acre park is vital to conservation efforts. The National Multicultural Western Heritage Museum & Hall of Fame is truly a remarkable place that celebrates the rich history of the American West. Through various artworks, journals, photography, and other memorabilia, visitors can better understand the people who made this part of the world what it is today. The museum is home to diverse exhibits, including those that showcase the contributions of groups like the Tuskegee Airmen and the Buffalo Soldiers. In addition to these exhibits, the Hall of Fame is where pioneers of the West are celebrated and recognized, like Charley Pride, Bill Pickett, and Melvin Carnell Blount, who have all played essential roles in shaping the cultural landscape of this part of the United States.

Did you know the Fort Worth National Historic District is home to the Texas Trail of Fame? This trail recognizes the individuals who significantly contributed to the Fort Worth Western way of life. The trail is marked by bronze plaques describing the honor bestowed on the hall of fame. The Texas Trail of Fame has placed more than 250 giant bronze stars on the sidewalks of the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. In October, they will add nine more stars to the trail. The nine new additions represent the heritage, traditions, values, and Western way of life. The Texas Trail of Fame is a great way to honor those who have contributed to our Western heritage and traditions.

The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is a true Texas tradition that's been around since 1896. For 23 days, you can experience rodeo action, livestock shows, kid-friendly exhibits, live music, food, a carnival, shopping, and more. They have exciting events like the Best of the West Ranch Rodeo, Best of Mexico Celebración, Cowboys of Color Rodeo, Bulls Night Out Extreme Bull Riding, and the Texas Champions Challenge. And let's not forget about the FWSSR PRORODEO Tournament, which takes place in the world's most excellent venue for the rodeo.
