Batten down the hatches and prepare for the Buffalo Bayou Regatta, Texas' largest canoe and kayak race open to paddlers ages 12 and up and who are encouraged to compete in the most memorable race along the scenic Buffalo Bayou that is a longstanding Houston tradition that begins near San Felipe Street and concludes at Allen's Landing. Free shuttle services are provided for all participants for the 15-mile exciting race that concludes with festivities, including live zydeco music, food and drinks, and trophies for the top three paddlers in Teams, Recreational Canoe, Recreational Kayak, and Unlimited Divisions.
Have a blast at the Space Center Houston, where future spacecraft engineers, designers, rocket scientists and budding astronauts can explore to their hearts content and learn that their dreams can become their reality. Stroll through the space center and check out the exhibits, attractions, special presentations, and hands-on activities to learn about NASA's manned space flight program. You can also watch astronauts train for missions, touch a real moon rock and take a behind-the-scenes tour of NASA.

Relax in the covered seating area or enjoy a pre-performance picnic on the hillside as you experience the most diverse eight-month season of professional shows that include classical, jazz, and ethnic music, dance, ballet, Shakespeare, musical theatre, classic films, and more.
Explore the origins of earth and man at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, where more than a dozen permanent exhibits explore the worlds of astronomy, space science, Native Americans, chemistry, energy, paleontology, and Texas wildlife. There are also several displays of dinosaur skeletons, natural gems, and other attractions that will keep you occupied for hours. Special sections of the museum include the Wortham IMAX Theatre, Cockrell Butterfly Center, Burke Baker Planetarium, and the George Observatory.
