The Menil Collection Art Museum holds over 19,000 pieces of art that are displayed in the main building and often switched around several other types of art collected from the 1940s. The collection is significant in its European art, including paintings by Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso. The permanent collection highlights Arts of Africa, the Americas and the Pacific Northwest, the Ancient World, the Pacific Islands, Drawing, Medieval and Byzantine, Modern and Contemporary, Surrealism, and the permanent installation entitled Witnesses.

Join together to preserve and disseminate the richness of Hispanic culture, values, and civic interests with the community of Houston, and see how they provide different educational and networking activities in collaboration with local universities. The main priorities of the Institute of Hispanic Culture are education and preserving Hispanic culture and values. As such, the Institute’s committees organize activities and events to raise funds for scholarship programs.

Unleash your artistic soul and experience The Houston Fringe Festival, a five-day event where performers and companies from around the planet present original work in Houston’s East End. The festival features over 100 companies and individual artists each year, showcasing both emerging and established performing and visual arts. Theatre Suburbia is an all-volunteer theater that is all-heart and all-talent and has produced a variety of plays, including classics, heavy dramas, dark comedies, light comedies, mysteries, original scripted, and children's shows. Throughout the years, they have endeavored to provide quality, live theatre to the Houston area. They try to reach as many as possible by providing unique sets seen with each show. Being a small theatre, they refer to physical limitations, not the quality of work performed. The ensemble has a growing reputation for flawless productions, with a knack for choosing challenging, lesser-known scripts that include Panic, Waiting To Be Mended, If It's Monday, and This Must Be Christmas.
