Theatre Southwest continues its passion for performance with six productions, a Festival of Originals, and monthly workshops. The entertainment venue showcases seasoned performers and break-out talent. As the theater continues to evolve and grow, it looks to lead Houston into a new era of breathtaking performances and live entertainment. All this creativity and activity takes a lot of work and a good amount of creative people. If you are an actor who would like to direct, a director who would like to act, a backstage person who would like to be a front stage person, a writer who would like to try out a new piece of writing, someone who would like to experiment with a specific type of play,  or volunteer at the theatre for any reason make sure to check them out.

Capture a moment in time at the Houston Center for Photography, where you'll find evolving exhibits by emerging and established photographers and plenty of spur-of-the-moment workshops to brush up on your photography skills. As a small visual artists organization, their gallery features some of the finest works of contemporary photography. They also offer over 300 photography classes and workshops year-round. Varying in competency levels, these classes are all taught by esteemed photographers and lecturers, including some of the masters of the medium.

Celebrate all things Texas at the annual Texian Market Days Festival, which is the biggest living history event of the year that you don’t want to miss out on. Bring the whole family to discover more than 150 years of Texas history with this day-long celebration of living history that includes hands-on activities, battle reenactments, live entertainment, food, craft vendors, pioneer folklife, cattle working demonstrations, historic home tours, games, cowboys, and vintage vehicles.
