Treasure the Athenian and Spartan Golden Age at the Annual Houston Greek Festival on the grounds of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral every October, where you will happily discover authentic Greek food, wine, dancing, fun, and deeply informative for the entire family. After a fulfilling sample of the best Greek cuisine, you'll visit the Athenian Playground, take a massively inspiring tour of the Cathedral, replete with impressive hand-painted icons, tons of crafts, and gifts that will inspire a rich appreciation of the abounding cultural impact all people make on Houston.
Discover the power of art at Project Row Houses, a community that enriches lives through art with an emphasis on cultural identity and its impact on the urban landscape. They engage neighbors and artists in collective creative action to help sustain opportunities with art studios in row homes, exhibition residences, houses for young mothers, and refurbished commercial spaces.
Sit under a ceiling of twinkling lights inside the Theatre Under The Stars and watch timeless classics in addition to new and innovative musical productions. You'll find featured shows like Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!, The Wiz, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Ragtime, Jerome Robbins' Broadway, and more. Though the TUTS group performed outdoors at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park, today, TUTS performs in the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, a 2,650-seat theater with a fiber-optic ceiling that twinkles as the lights dim, harkening back to the theater troupe's open-air performances.
