Celebrate the contributions of African-American soldiers at the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum, where you'll see historical documents and artifacts that tell the story of how the fighting cavalries gained respect over the years. As the only museum to honor the legacy of the Buffalo Soldier, they feature historical artifacts, documents, videos, prints, interactive and multimedia exhibits to entertain and educate visitors about African-American military history.

Join the hustle and bustle of The Market Square Park, the original heart of community activity in downtown Houston. Combining live entertainment, tasty temptations, shady walkways, and dog runs to rival all dog runs, Market Square Park is reminiscent of another era where neighbors gather and enjoy the space they call home.

Visit the Chapel of St. Basil, based at the University of St. Thomas. Designed by renowned architect Phillip Johnson, the chapel includes three functioning bells, a custom-built organ, and an overall style reminiscent of historic European churches. The chapel hosts Mass every day. It seats about 225 people and is lit from the inside by natural light from the dome, a skylight over the altar, and the statue of Our Lady on the east wall and from the asymmetrical glass cross on the west wall.
