The Grammy Award–winning Houston Symphony has played a central role in Houston’s cultural and civic life for more than 100 years. The symphony is now one of America’s oldest performing arts organizations and the largest performing arts organization in Houston. It's always a season to remember at the Houston Symphony. Experience the Art Car Museum, where they encourage public awareness of cultural, political, economic, and personal dimensions of art. The Museum features the most imaginative, elaborate, and artfully constructed art cars, lowriders, mobile vehicles, and revolving shows of art by local, national, and international artists of all media. In addition to curated exhibitions, there is a unique opportunity through the annual open call show for the artistic community to voice their response, via their artwork, to a topic of importance presented by the Museum.

Lace up your running shoes and prepare to join The Chevron Houston Marathon festival that supports many charities, including CanCare, Texas Children's Hospital, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. As the largest single-day sporting event in the city, all runners get a chance to participate in the course map that runs together with a half marathon and a 5K race, where thousands of runners and spectators get to enjoy the fun signage, clocks, bottled water, Gatorade, aid stations, and exhilarating entertainment.
