Things To Do in Cheyenne, WY
One of the largest outdoor rodeos and western celebrations in the world, Cheyenne Frontier Days truly demonstrates why Cheyenne earned the nickname Frontier City. Join in this popular 10-day long attraction, which draws in hundreds of thousands of visitors to this otherwise low-key city. This enormous fair features popular music performances, a midway, carnival rides, an Indian village, wild west shows and “The Daddy of ‘em All” rodeo.
Head out to the Curt Gowdy State Park, located in-between Cheyenne and Laramie, for a beautiful mountain retreat. Get back in harmony with Mother Nature in this 3,400-acre park and reservoir; this nature preserve is bounding with all sorts of plant and wildlife, as well as an “Epic” trail system, granite outcroppings (perfect for climbing), and aquatic and outdoor activities.
For some of the greatest names in music and show business, check at the Ice and Events Center, also known as Taco John’s Events Center or the Ikon Ice & Events Center. This flexible facility brings a unique configuration to Cheyenne’s entertainment venues. Enjoy laser tag, miniature golf, an arcade and an ice/roller rink as well as a large area for concerts, art shows, conventions, trade shows, sporting events and more.
The 9-hole executive Little America Golf Course features some of the best outdoors sights in the city, as well as all the hallmarks of Wyoming golf–tight fairways, close trees, smooth greens and water hazards. This fun little course is excellent for those looking to enjoy some downtime while traveling or sneak a quick game into their busy schedule. Just keep an eye out for the wildlife!
