One of the largest outdoor rodeos and western celebrations in the world, Cheyenne Frontier Days truly demonstrates why Cheyenne earned the nickname Frontier City. Join in this popular 10-day long attraction, which draws in hundreds of thousands of visitors to this otherwise low-key city. This enormous fair features popular music performances, a midway, carnival rides, an Indian village, wild west shows and “The Daddy of ‘em All” rodeo.
Running June through July, the Cheyenne Gunslingers transport their guests back in time to the Old West. Held in the downtown Gunslinger Square, this stage set showcases a saloon, jail and gallows where the good guys, corrupt judges and wily villain face-off in the midst of jailbreaks, near-hangings and shootouts.
Audiences at the Cheyenne International Film Festival can see films from around the world in Cheyenne’s oldest theaters: the Atlas and the Lincoln. Not only can you catch the best independent and foreign films here, but you will also celebrate the art of film and digital media and meet with producers, directors, writers and photographers during panels.

The Mardi Gras festival, which began as a Masked Ball, has grown in popularity as it transforms the quiet city of Cheyenne into the topsy-turvy streets of New Orleans for one night.
