The Grotto resembles the cave where the Blessed Mother appeared to St. Bernadette. Within the Grotto, a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes looks down upon Bernadette kneeling in prayer. Not only is this cave for devotion to the Patroness of the Americas, but the Tepeyac also honors the work of Oblate missionaries among Latino communities in the U.S., Mexico, and beyond.

Take a step back into the mid-1800s with the San Antonio Fire Museum, where visitors can check out the antique fire trucks, fire-fighting equipment, historical artifacts, beautifully archived documents, and photos. On the kid tours, your kiddos can dress up in authentic replicas of firefighters' turnout gear and climb up on a 1953 International fire truck. They can also take a seat in the small theater and watch short videos on the history of firefighters and how they train today.
