Baseball fans in Anchorage, head out to the ballpark to watch the Anchorage Glacier Pilots take to the diamond to play the sport known as America's favorite pastime. The Pilots are a summer college baseball team and are a member of the National Baseball Congress. They have won the NBC World Series in 1969, 1971, 1986, 1991 and 2001. Home games are played at Mulcahy Stadium in Anchorage.

The Alaska Museum of Natural History is a multi-dimensional compendium of the state's most amazing natural creations. The Anchorage Folk Festival is held every January and is an impressive showcase for local, regional and national talent. Folk songs often tell the tale of the triumph of the human spirit, and nearly everyone in Anchorage and the surrounding areas can relate to overcoming challenges to find a better way of life. In addition to performances on the main stage, there are also interesting workshops, dances and late night jams on the schedule of events.

Kincaid Park is an impressive 1,400-acre park that boasts over sixty kilometers of outdoor trails that wind through the hills and birch and spruce groves. This park is literally a skier's dream, as most of these trails are lit to accommodate night skiing. The park is also the host of many ski competitions, including the Olympic tryouts. There is also a visitors center that features historic photographs and other interesting items. In the summer, the trails are excellent for hiking and biking, and the small pond nearby is usually stocked with trout or salmon.
