Located just 25 miles due north of the city of Montgomery, Lake Jordan is a 6,800-acre impoundment on the Coosa River with an impressive 188 miles of shoreline. This structure was built in 1851 and was both the state Capitol and the Capitol of the Confederacy during the American Civil War in 1861.
