While Buck's Pocket State Park may be a bit of a drive away from Montgomery, the area's amazing scenery and activities make it all worth it. Located just 25 miles due north of the city of Montgomery, Lake Jordan is a 6,800-acre impoundment on the Coosa River with an impressive 188 miles of shoreline. This lake has become quite popular for boating, swimming and fishing. It features public and private boat ramps as well as several private marinas.
