Go on a really wild adventure when you explore the attractions at the Montgomery Zoo. Established in 1920, the zoo has consistently maintained an incredibly high level of excellence that the whole family will feel the minute you walk through the front gates. Montgomery Zoo sets itself apart from other zoos by the most obvious fact that the animals are allowed to wander freely and interact with visitors. The Alabama State University Hornets take the field in several sports. They play in the NCAA Division I competition in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The university's football team plays at Hornet Stadium while the basketball teams hold court at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome. The Hornet baseball team plays at the ASU Baseball Complex.

The Alabama National Fair is not only a fun event held every fall, but also it has a higher purpose. The event's objective is to raise funds to support children and youth charities throughout central Alabama and the aid is distributed through the Kiwanis Club of Montgomery.
