Montgomery does have its share of the unexpected, and a prime example of that is the MOOseum. Sponsored by the Alabama Cattlemen's Association, this free educational center is located near the State Capitol and utilizes videos, exhibits and pieces of memorabilia to underscore the importance of cows and cattle. The back half of the museum attraction features a big amusement area that has a play kitchen, rodeo gear and saddles and a big stuffed cow. The kids will just love it!

There's art that was probably inspired by something miles away, and then there's the kind of art that speaks to you because it hits close to home. That is what the works of art stir up in the many patrons who frequent SAC's Gallery. This is a cooperative gallery that prominently features the work of local artists. Sac's is sponsored by the Society of Arts and Crafts of Montgomery. Founded in 1979, it is located in the city's historic Mulberry District.

Take a relaxing tour of some of Montgomery's natural beauty when you get on board the Harriot II Riverboat. Cruise along the Alabama River for either an afternoon or evening cruise and enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of an unforgettable journey. The views are spectacular along the surface of the calm river waters as you enjoy a great meal and listen to excellent live musical entertainment that provides the perfect soundtrack for your trip.

While Buck's Pocket State Park may be a bit of a drive away from Montgomery, the area's amazing scenery and activities make it all worth it. One of the more popular activities is the park's 20 miles of hiking and recreation trails. These trails vary in length from a quarter mile to six miles but all offer a chance to experience the amazing woodlands and vista's from a truly unique perspective.
