The Alabama National Fair is not only a fun event held every fall, but also it has a higher purpose. The event's objective is to raise funds to support children and youth charities throughout central Alabama and the aid is distributed through the Kiwanis Club of Montgomery. Great food, fun and music are just a few of this festival's many attractions. But once it is all said and done, the overriding purpose of providing assistance to those in the area who are in need is successfully accomplished.
Strike out for an excellent time at Montgomery's Bama Lanes. Aside from the state-of-the-art bowling lanes and scoring system, this fun facility features a pro shop, concession stand, video arcade, and a great lounge with karaoke and pocket billiards, too.
The whole family can reach for the stars when you visit the W.A. Gayle Planetarium. This fascinating attraction offers several presentations and exhibits that bring the wonder of outer space clearly within reach. The planetarium opened in 1969 and after undergoing a significant renovation now offers visitors a captivating look at space with the aid of 22 video projectors, a new sound system and the innovative use of Laser Light Shows.
From the graceful moves of the performers to the bold theatrics of the accompanying music, you will enjoy the various aspects of ballet when you experience an evening of entertainment with the Montgomery Ballet, Montgomery's official performing dance company. In addition to presenting various productions throughout the year, the Montgomery Ballet is also a school that trains young, talented dancers and grooms them for a place on the company's prestigious stage. So whether you are new to the art of dance or are a seasoned lover of this graceful means of expression, the Montgomery Ballet's dedication to excellence in ballet will not disappoint.
