Explore Minnesota’s past and learn about the American experience when you witness a play by History Theatre. True to its name, the theater presents entertainment that explores the many different histories that make up Saint Paul’s diverse community. For more than 30 years, History Theatre has produced more than 100 world premieres by national playwrights such as Craig Wright, Frank McCourt, Doris Baizley and others.

Enter the musical realm at the Schubert Club Museum of Musical Instruments. An interpretive guide leads tours through the facility, explaining the history of the club and the museum’s permanent collection. Exhibits include the evolution of the modern keyboard, an impressive collection of musical manuscripts and a space for musical experimentation.

Learn some history as you enjoy nature and outdoor activities at Indian Mounds Park. The public park marks the site of six prehistoric Native American burial mounds—the last remaining six in the Saint Paul area. There were an estimated 18-37 mounds in the city, but these were lost to city development.

Church members and visitors alike are welcome to visit the Cathedral of Saint Paul. This National Shrine of the Apostle Paul is one of the most distinctive cathedrals in the United States, and is dedicated to the saint after which the city of Saint Paul is named. Constructed in 1904 by the chief architect of the St. Louis World’s Fair, this distinctive cathedral features beautiful art and architectural designs.
