The Mandan Rodeo Days Celebration has been proudly named one of the “Top 100 Events in America” by the North American Bus Tours Association. If it's excitement you're after this is the event to see, as this three-day PRCA rodeo is packed with three fast-paced rodeo performances. The festival also extends beyond the rodeo to offer visitors Art in the Park, live music, a carnival, dancing, baseball, pitchfork fondue, a golf tournament, and, as the event is held every July, an Independence Day Parade.

You will cruise through the picturesque Missouri River on this state-of-the-art 150 passenger riverboat. This is an all-weather paddlewheeler and it docks at Port Bismarck. There are various packages to enjoy that include excursion cruises, moonlight treks, and dinner cruises, as well.

One of Bismarck's most distinctive attractions is the North Dakota State Capitol Building. Known by the locals as the “Skyscraper on the Prairie,” the facility is well worth visiting for its fascinating historical significance. This Art-Deco style building was completed in 1933 and stands at an impressive 19 stories. The state's past, present and future all reside within the walls of this structure that also features an arboretum garden that includes a bronze Sakakawea and a rendering of a pioneer family.
