Set the stage for a perfect evening for you and your partner, as you enjoy the bouquet of aromas and tastes from wines made in the Lone Star State at the Bar Z Winery. The winery features a beautiful facility, with everything from intimate tables lit by candles to a beautiful panoramic view of the canyon. Come and enjoy a glass of wine and an unforgettable evening. Despite the fact that wineries in California have gotten much attention, the first winery was actually established in Texas back in 1662. The state has quietly been producing wine ever since, and is now the fifth largest wine-producing state in the U.S. Sip a glass of Texas wine, and be pleasantly surprised.
The Amarillo Farm and Ranch Show takes place every fall at the Amarillo Civic Center and features over 450 companies showcasing the latest agricultural equipment and the newest information through special presentations, workshops and seminars. Nearly 30,000 attendees from the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles attend the show, along with visitors from New Mexico, Colorado and Kansas. Everyone from farmers to ranch workers to businessmen who deal with farming and everything that goes with it, make it a point to be in Amarillo for this show.
Amarillo's Wonderland Park has been providing 60 years of "wows" to several generations of young ones who love to ride the rides and be a part of this iconic amusement park's excitement. The fun never ends at Wonderland, as you can choose from everything from miniature golf to one of four roller-coasters, five water rides as well as merry-go-rounds, bumper cars and even a pirate ship! Every day there are special ticket promotions, so make sure you check their website before heading out for a great day at this amusement attraction.
The Amarillo Country Club golf course is a highly regarded set of eighteen holes laid out over a moderately accessible landscape. The course features 3 sets of teeboxes to keep things fun and challenging. A good number of trees line the fairways, and water hazards come into play on only a couple of holes. The hole to look out for is #6, which is a 349-yard, par 4 that requires a shot over a lake to very well-bunkered green. Overall, a fun, solid playing experience good for players of every skill level.
