The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History invites you to explore the natural history exhibits and a collection of artifacts that tell the history of the New World as it unfolded on the Gulf Coast. Check out the unique life-sized replicas of the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria ships. The vessels were a gift from Spain to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' voyage to the New World. They were constructed from authentic 15th-century materials, including wood from the same forest as Columbus' ships and hand-forged nails. Other exhibits include an interactive shipwreck display, artifacts related to French explorer Robert Cavelier, the Children's Wharf, Native American crafts, and bird and reptile eggs that chronicle the history and culture of South Texas.
Leave South Texas behind and enter the Irish land of Cassidy’s Irish Pub, where the dimly lit atmosphere, dark wooden walls, and brass wall hangings give the feel of 100% Irish authenticity. Cassidy's provides a good selection of spirits and beer with Guinness on draft, so ask the bartender to pull one out of the tap with a white, foamy top. While you're relishing your delicious drink, relax and enjoy the local and regional live music offered every week.
Get ready to experience a restaurant that offers a wide selection of seafood, steaks, and comfort food with live music every night at Blackbeard's on the Beach. Whether you're in the mood for Baja Tacos, seared tuna, a juicy steak, a burger, or loaded nachos, they've got you covered. And if you're a bourbon drinker, you're in luck, they recently added some top-notch bourbons to their drink menu. You can even sit at the bar and check out their crazy collection of stuff, from pirates to rock 'n roll. Blackbeard's is a favorite spot for those who seek a one-of-a-kind restaurant. Locals and tourists have been returning for over 25 years, with generations of families experiencing the fun-filled atmosphere and excellent food.
