Theatre Southwest continues its passion for performance with six productions, a Festival of Originals, and monthly workshops. The entertainment venue showcases seasoned performers and break-out talent. As the theater continues to evolve and grow, it looks to lead Houston into a new era of breathtaking performances and live entertainment. All this creativity and activity takes a lot of work and a good amount of creative people. If you are an actor who would like to direct, a director who would like to act, a backstage person who would like to be a front stage person, a writer who would like to try out a new piece of writing, someone who would like to experiment with a specific type of play,  or volunteer at the theatre for any reason make sure to check them out.

Explore The Health Museum, an excellent, innovative, and interactive health and science educational experience, where you will discover a larger-than-life journey through the human body, see actual organ dissections, enjoy science mini-classes and mini-med schools, and check out the health fairs and community outreach, and family science labs. In addition to the permanent exhibits, other attractions include the McGovern Theater, the Sue Trammell Whitfield Gallery for traveling exhibitions, and four Learning Centers for classes, camps, and activities.

Treasure the Athenian and Spartan Golden Age at the Annual Houston Greek Festival on the grounds of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral every October, where you will happily discover authentic Greek food, wine, dancing, fun, and deeply informative for the entire family. After a fulfilling sample of the best Greek cuisine, you'll visit the Athenian Playground, take a massively inspiring tour of the Cathedral, replete with impressive hand-painted icons, tons of crafts, and gifts that will inspire a rich appreciation of the abounding cultural impact all people make on Houston.
