The National United States Armed Forces Museum educates and memorializes the heroic sacrifices and valiant efforts of soldiers who fought to keep our nation free. The museum displays rare collections and preservations of historical military artifacts, historical research, education, and the presentation of the public of the museum's collection. They wish to expand knowledge, deepen awareness, and provide a greater appreciation, to both visitors and residents, of the dedication and sacrifice of citizens in those in defense of liberty.

Batten down the hatches and prepare for the Buffalo Bayou Regatta, Texas' largest canoe and kayak race open to paddlers ages 12 and up and who are encouraged to compete in the most memorable race along the scenic Buffalo Bayou that is a longstanding Houston tradition that begins near San Felipe Street and concludes at Allen's Landing. Free shuttle services are provided for all participants for the 15-mile exciting race that concludes with festivities, including live zydeco music, food and drinks, and trophies for the top three paddlers in Teams, Recreational Canoe, Recreational Kayak, and Unlimited Divisions.

Rock out over a fabulous restaurant and romantic date destination, followed by an evening of excellent live music and dancing at Sambucca, located in the historic Rice Hotel. Sambuca is Houston's premier location for dining and live music nightly. Any evening is great for dining, drinking, and enjoying the show. Theatre Southwest continues its passion for performance with six productions, a Festival of Originals, and monthly workshops. The entertainment venue showcases seasoned performers and break-out talent.
