Theatre Southwest continues its passion for performance with six productions, a Festival of Originals, and monthly workshops. The entertainment venue showcases seasoned performers and break-out talent. As the theater continues to evolve and grow, it looks to lead Houston into a new era of breathtaking performances and live entertainment. All this creativity and activity takes a lot of work and a good amount of creative people. If you are an actor who would like to direct, a director who would like to act, a backstage person who would like to be a front stage person, a writer who would like to try out a new piece of writing, someone who would like to experiment with a specific type of play,  or volunteer at the theatre for any reason make sure to check them out.

Grab your tankard of ale, your favorite Lord and Lady, and spirit your way to The Texas Renaissance Festival, named #1 Best Cultural Festival by USA Today. Take a step back in time to the nation's largest Renaissance-themed event, where you will experience a 60-acre 16th-century European village filled with kings, queens, knights, nobles, peasants, and all manner of fantasy creatures. The festival has 21 stages of continuous entertainment by clowns, acrobats, musicians, dancers, magicians, award-winning food and drink, wine and beer, and over 500 shops that showcase the work of master artists and craftspeople from around the world.

The Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park is one of Houston’s most beloved and iconic landmarks and community centerpieces for visitors of all ages to create endless memories with friends and family. As one of the most visited attractions, you get to experience what it's like to stand in the waterfall’s mist and be enveloped by the gentle roar of the cascading water. You can also walk along the lush canopy of towering live oak trees while in the core of one of the largest business districts in the nation.

Let your hair down and enjoy sand volleyball and pickleball at Bumpy Pickle, where you can enjoy five well-lit, regulation-size sand volleyball courts and nine pickleball courts. It’s a great place to unwind with friends and coworkers or even on an adventurous date. Bumpy Pickle offers a lip-smacking menu ranging from tacos to full-blown entrees. They even have something special for the kiddos. And you can bet they did not forget the sweet tooth, dessert-loving bunch.
