The annual Poteet Festival gives Poteet strawberry growers plenty of locations on the festival grounds to sell their crops. Along with selling delicious berries, the festival features non-stop live music from nationally known Country and Tejano performers and local bands. There are gunslingers, a carnival midway, and live rodeo performances that include Bull Riding, Bronc Riding, Barrel Racing, and Junior Events that offer cash prizes.
Stretch your legs and pedal your way into history, architecture, and public art that is abundant throughout The Alamo city with San Antonio Bike Tours. San Antonio Bike Tours offers several tour options, such as The Downtowner, Brackenridge Park, Historic Downtowner, River and Missions, Parks and Gardens, just to name a few. All tours will include the use of a comfortable recumbent trike (solo or tandem) adjusted to fit you, a safety helmet, and a radio intercom system.
Take part in a dynamic experience as you learn about stars, planets, black holes, and distant galaxies at the Planetarium - The Scobee Education Center at San Antonio College. Every Friday night, the planetarium opens to the public, so they get a chance to stargaze and see digitally-created images of stars, planets, and galaxies fill the night sky. Housed atop the iconic blue Charles E. Cheever, Jr. Star Tower, the Scalan Observatory houses a 10-inch refractor telescope and features a 360-degree rotating dome and panel that opens 90 degrees, enabling stargazing in any direction.
