Seize this opportunity to present your passion to an audience or witness art for the first time at Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival. Conceived to stimulate artistic and economic development, Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival brings artists from multiple mediums to showcase their work throughout San Antonio. The arts festival covers three days of free and ticketed events for patrons to see new and innovative art in person.
Join Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours as they guide you through the streets of old San Antonio and bring the storied past to life with their many ghostly tales. Meet the native tour guides whose ancestry originates with the early founders of San Antonio. Dressed in period dress, they will light your way with their lanterns through the strange and unusual tales of centuries past, legendary stories, folklore, and ghostly experiences.
Take part in a dynamic experience as you learn about stars, planets, black holes, and distant galaxies at the Planetarium - The Scobee Education Center at San Antonio College. Every Friday night, the planetarium opens to the public, so they get a chance to stargaze and see digitally-created images of stars, planets, and galaxies fill the night sky. Housed atop the iconic blue Charles E. Cheever, Jr. Star Tower, the Scalan Observatory houses a 10-inch refractor telescope and features a 360-degree rotating dome and panel that opens 90 degrees, enabling stargazing in any direction.
