Take part in a dynamic experience as you learn about stars, planets, black holes, and distant galaxies at the Planetarium - The Scobee Education Center at San Antonio College. Every Friday night, the planetarium opens to the public, so they get a chance to stargaze and see digitally-created images of stars, planets, and galaxies fill the night sky. Housed atop the iconic blue Charles E. Cheever, Jr. Star Tower, the Scalan Observatory houses a 10-inch refractor telescope and features a 360-degree rotating dome and panel that opens 90 degrees, enabling stargazing in any direction.

The best way to enjoy your day is at the San Antonio Zoo, where they bring exotic wildlife from all around the world directly to you. Make your zoo visit an adventure as you get the chance to watch the elephants play, listen to the hyenas laugh, and take in the sights of the lions, tigers, bears, kangaroos, hippos, and flamingos, to name a few. Make sure you stop by the giraffe enclosures and reach up to feed them right out of your hands.

As an artist-centric, educational, forward-thinking, and inclusive institution, Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum has multiple complementary programs that any artist can join. Such as the Open Studios, a film series that goes behind the scenes at artists' studios, the Art Education Lap, which provides hands-on programming and educational content, and outreach events that include workshops, artist talks, panel discussions, and film screenings.
