Things To Do in San Antonio, TX
Visit Gruene, TX, home to the Gruene Music & Wine Fest held in October. This festival celebrates Texas and Americana music. Enjoy the music, food, and crafts with German and New World Wines in the quaint little town of Gruene. Remember to taste the specialty beers on tap! Only those 21 and up are admitted with a ticket purchase.
Be sure to make the rounds at The Alamo Quarry Market, a lifestyle center located in north central San Antonio that once functioned as a cement factory until it was abandoned. Since then it has been redeveloped into a thriving market with a Regal Cinema theater and retail businesses that include specialty stores and fine-dining restaurants. The Quarry still maintains the facade of the cement factory with its most notable feature and landmark - the four historical smokestacks that can be seen from several miles away. Another popular feature is the life-sized, brightly colored cow statues from the Cow Parade that are scattered throughout the market place. This is a "must visit" destination.
