One of Waco's most popular events is packed with tradition. The Homestead Fair held every November features fine arts and heirloom skills, and always boasts a full itinerary of fun activities like boot making, woodworking, pottery, metal casting and basket making, among many other demonstrations. Live music, great food, and a celebration of the various cultures in the area all make for a fun family festival event. Plus, the fact that it usually is scheduled the weekend after Thanksgiving means you can begin your Christmas shopping and find a plethora of unique gifts in the expansive arts and crafts sale area.

The role Texas has played in American history is dramatically presented at the Red Men Museum and Library. This is where the national office is located, and the library is inside the same facility. Artifacts from various points in American history are gathered here, like Aaron Burr's writing desk, a ring that used to belong to Rudolph Valentino, and a bugle that was used on the field at Gettysburg. Reference materials, archival documents and other items are all housed here, and this museum presents history from an unmistakable Native American perspective.

The snack bar is available on weekends, or you can take your own food and spirits for after your jump. There is plenty of Shiner Bock available when you are done! They are the only Drop Zone in Texas owned and operated by a National Skydiving Champion with 40+ years of skydiving experience. They are also the official training facility for the Texas National Guard Parachute Demonstration Team.
