The Historic Governors’ Mansion provided residence for Wyoming’s governor from 1905 until 1976. This historic landmark and attraction is currently operating as a house museum, with rooms displaying decorations and artifacts from the 1905, 1937, 1955 and 1960s eras. Support the University of Wyoming’s athletic teams, the Wyoming Cowboys, in a wide range of sports. Represented by the iconic silhouette of a cowboy riding a bucking bronco, these NCAA Division I sports teams include basketball, football, golf, volleyball, track and field, cross country, wrestling, tennis, soccer and swimming and diving.
Formed by a small but dedicated group in 1989, the Texas Trail Museum marks the historic Texas Cattle Trail. Housed in a former Power Plant/Fire House, the small museum displays a number of historic and pre-historic artifacts from Albin, Burns, Carpenter, Egbert, Pine Bluffs and other areas of Laramie County, and includes six historic buildings.
